Wildflowers, weddings and welcome to the family Rosa!
The wildflowers have been quite a spectacle at Shawcroft Farm this summer. Planted by Henry, to celebrate the marriage to his new wife – Rosa on July 19th; the eye catching flowers have been popular with visitors as well as many bees and butterflies.
The rain didn’t dampen spirits on their wedding day and celebrations were held in the beautifully decorated calf shed. Family and friends transformed the barn into a splendid venue; guests strolled through the wildflowers and then enjoyed views towards the Weaver Hills. Rosie Dalton even made special pots of ice cream for the wedding and Angus had ‘Daltons’ butter made locally.
The flowers are still a carpet of colour and visitors to the Honesty Shop are very welcome to walk through them, they are adjacent to the shop car park. Our ice cream cart has been out to many weddings this summer, currently it is in Devon at a wedding for the weekend – we wish Tom and Kim a wonderful day.
Daltons Dairy also has an ice cream trailer that can be hired for events and shows. The girls have been to Bustlers Street Food Market, Manifold Show and are heading to Proms in the Park on Sunday 18th August in Swadlincote. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the sun makes an appearance!
